چکیده

The stability properties of inviscid protostellar disks are examined taking into account the Hall effect and buoyancy. Depending on the parameters, different types of instabilities can exist in different regions of disks. In a very low ionized region, the instability associated with baroclinic effects of buoyancy is likely most efficient. The Hall-driven shear instability can lead to destabilization of regions with a higher ionization. The magnetorotational instability modified by buoyancy can only be a destabilizing factor in regions with strong magnetic field or a relatively high conductivity (σB 2 /ρ > aeΩ, with ae the magnetization parameter of electrons).

HALL AND LON-SLIP EFFECTS ON MAGNETO-MICROPOLAR FLUID WITH COMBINED FORCED AND FREE CONVECTION IN BOUNDARY LAYER FLOW OVER A HORIZONTAL PLATE WITH VISCOUS DISSIPATION

In this paper, we study the effects of Hall and ion-slip currents on the steady magneto-micropolar of a viscous incompressible and electrically conducting fluid over a horizontal plate by taking in to account the viscous dissipation effects. By means of similarity solutions, deviation of fundamental equations on the assumption of small magnetic Reynolds number are solved numerically by using qu...

Magnetohydrodynamics of Protostellar Disks

The magnetohydrodynamical behavior (MHD) of accretion disks is reviewed. A detailed presentation of the fundamental MHD equations appropriate for protostellar disks is given. The combination of a weak (subthermal) magnetic field and Keplerian rotation is unstable to the magnetorotational instability (MRI), if the degree of ionization in the disk is sufficiently high. The MRI produces enhanced a...

Magnetic Braking and Protostellar Disk Formation: Ambipolar Diffusion

It is established that the formation of rotationally supported disks during the main accretion phase of star formation is suppressed by a moderately strong magnetic field in the ideal MHD limit. Non-ideal MHD effects are expected to weaken the magnetic braking, perhaps allowing the disk to reappear. We concentrate on one such effect, ambipolar diffusion, which enables the field lines to slip re...

Local stability criterion for self-gravitating disks in modified gravity

We study local stability of self-gravitating fluid and stellar disk in the context of modified gravity theories which predict a Yukawa-like term in the gravitational potential of a point mass. We investigate the effect of such a Yukawa-like term on the dynamics of self-gravitating disks. More specifically, we investigate the consequences of the presence of this term for the local stability of t...

A Solution to the Protostellar Accretion Problem

Accretion rates of order 10−8 M⊙yr are observed in young protostars of approximately a solar mass with evidence of circumstellar disks. The accretion rate is significantly lower for protostars of smaller mass, approximately proportional to the second power of the stellar mass, Ṁaccr ∝ M2. The traditional view is that the observed accretion is the consequence of the angular momentum transport in...
